The 1st Step Diabetes Wellness Center is dedicated to offering the highest quality support and treatment for those affected by diabetes in the Baltimore community. We provide a one-stop medical, educational, and counseling facility. Our advanced holistic approach to treatment means we address every aspect of our patients’ lifestyles and needs. We are also pleased to announce the “Prick-It” Campaign, an initiative to have 100,000 Maryland residents and 70,000 people nationwide tested for diabetes, a momentous effort spearheaded by our partners at Faith-Based Services. Since testing is the most important and powerful step to diabetes wellness, we have decided to set this unprecedented goal in order to reach out to anyone who may suffer from the effects of diabetes. Over six million people nation-wide have diabetes but are undiagnosed, making it one of the most dangerous but undetected diseases in the country. Millions more have no idea that they may be at risk for developing diabetes later in life. The “Prick-It” campaign is designed to increase health and awareness by helping undiagnosed, unmanaged diabetics get the support they need.
